AIMS OF THE VITILIGO SOCIETY OF SOUTH

AFRICA (VSSA)

  1. Creating awareness of Vitiligo

• Providing information about the disease to patients and doctors

• Describing current and up-to-date treatments

• Providing a support group for patients

• Facilitating research

• Producing and maintaining a website

• Providing list of medical practitioners in your area offering special services for vitiligo

• Holding meetings on a regular basis

• To be part of the Dermatology Society

  1. Funding research in vitiligo

  2. Fighting discrimination against vitiligo sufferers

Over 100 million of people suffer from this skin disease daily, but there is no cure in sight. With focus on collaboration efforts, we can bring that number closer to zero. Take action today and urge the UN Secretary-General to prioritize multilateral efforts in healthcare and education for this neglected disease.
